3 Vehicles to consider for the perfect Mountain Trip!

3 Vehicles to consider for the perfect Mountain Trip!

No matter the time of year, it's always a good time for a trip to the mountains, with exquisite views and exciting trails. You need a car with impressive off-road capabilities to tackle those gravel roads and hills through the summer heat and winter chills. Today we review the top three vehicles for mountain driving.

1. Ford Bronco Raptor

Ford Bronco Raptor

The Bronco Raptor has HOSS 4.0 suspension and 37-inch tires. It has a Bronco commanding presence and a ranger's acceleration capabilities. Built on a high-strength frame, the Bronco Raptor is 9.8 inches wider than the Bronco, which makes it more stable on the road. A twin-turbo 3L EcoBoost engine powers the extreme off-road experience.

Compared to the Bronco, Ford has added extra suspension and reprogrammed the 10-speed transmission. The HOSS 4.0 system comes with FOX internal bypass shocks for rock jumps.  The Bronco Raptor can ford more than three feet of water, meaning that it can cross streams comfortably. The Ford Bronco Raptor is a race-focused performance off-roader that will not disappoint.

The Bronco Raptor is only available with the four-door option for now. Prices start at $67,000.

2. Chevrolet Silverado Z71

Chevrolet Silverado Z71

The Silverado Z71 delivers its promise of better off-road handling and all-terrain capabilities. This pickup makes mountaineering easy with 18-inch wheels, rancho brand shocks, and hill descent control. The latest off-road offering from Chevrolet runs on a V8 engine and 6-speed automatic transmission.

All available trims can hold their own on rocky pathways, but the custom trail boss is the best trim for off-road driving. The Custom Trail Boss suspension comes with a 2-inch factory lift, making it easier to tackle steep obstacles.

Starting at $41,195, this super truck is a must for any off-road experience.

3. 2022 GMC Terrain

2022 GMC Terrain

With a rugged exterior and roomy seating, this SUV is great for off-roading and can easily tackle mountain trails. The GMC Terrain has hill descent control and a front steel skid plate.

The GMC Terrain is categorised as a crossover SUV but is up for an off-road challenge. The Denali trim has enhanced shock control and suspension with its off-road mode. This compact SUV tops the list of cars and trucks that cost less with a starting price of $29,095.

Conclusion

Conclusion

These three cars can handle the outdoors superbly, from the desert racing Bronco Raptor to the all-terrain GMC and over-performing Chevrolet Silverado Z71. We know that at least one of these cars will exceed your mountain driving experience on rocks or sand. While we are exiting the summer and warmer seasons, these vehicles will still hold up as we approach fall and winter, but remember to take care in mud and rain.
