What’s New

The new 2022 Ford Escape is the middle sibling of the 2022 Ford EcoSport and the 2022 Ford Edge. The 2022 Escape now features a roomy interior with more comfortable seating, an exceptional quality ride, and controls that are easy to use. The new 2022 version can now also be bought in a hybrid engine that gets an amazing 17km/L.

Exterior

The 2022 Ford Escape is 4.6m in length and 1.67m in height. The overall width is 2.017m, including the side mirrors. All S models come standard with 43.18cm steel wheels. The SE model has 43.18cm alloy wheels and a chrome exterior trim. 

Interior

The Escape can take up to 37.5 cubic feet of cargo. The cabin is spacious and functional, with primary controls that are easy to reach. The control buttons on the steering wheel are easy to grip, and the touchscreen is a cinch to operate. The driver’s seat has plenty of adjustments to give you the perfect seating position. Passengers in the back will appreciate the extra legroom and headroom.

Engines, Performance and Technology

The SEL model has keyless entry and ignition, a 20.32cm touchscreen, satellite radio, two USB ports in the rear, and Apple and Android integration.

The 2022 Ford Escape is available in four engine types. The 2.5-litre Hybrid, 2.5-litre Plug-in Hybrid, 1.5 EcoBoost, and 2.0-litre EcoBoost. The S model gives approximately 6.8L/100km on the highway and 8.5L/100km in the city. The hybrid SE model gives an estimated 5.4L/100km on the highway and 6.3L/100km in the city. 

The Ford Escape hybrid is available in four engine configurations: the 2.5L iVCT I-4 Hybrid, 2.5L I-4 Plug-in Hybrid, 1.5L EcoBoost I-4, and the 2.0L Twin-Scroll EcoBoost I-4. The entry-level S trim will give you approximately 8.5L/100km in the city and 6.8L/100km on the highway. The SE Hybrid’s engine can drive even further, only gulping up 5.4L/100km in the city and 6.3L/100km on the highway. Lastly, the SE Plug-in Hybrid fuel economy is only 2.2L/100km combined.

In 2022, the Ford Escape was released in eight trims. You can choose between the S, SE, SEL, SE Hybrid, SEL Hybrid, SEL Plug-in Hybrid, Titanium Hybrid, and Titanium Plug-in Hybrid.
